A04 - New G-protein-coupled receptors for fatty acids and other lipids
The proposed project will characterize the physiological, pathophysiological and pharmacological role of the free fatty acid receptors FFA1-FFA4 in the context of metabolic, cardiovascular and neoplastic processes and diseases using in vitro models as well as genetically altered mice. In the second part of the project, we plan on searching for new lipid G-protein-coupled receptors. We will apply new screening approaches using lipid, CRISPR/Cas9 and siRNA libraries. Further characterization of potential new lipid receptors will be performed with pharmacological, cell biological and genetic techniques.
